CPI holds seminar on “Save Secularism & Save Constitution” in city

Hyderabad: In response to the call given by CPI National Council to observe January 30 as Assassination Day of Mahatma Gandhi, the CPI Telangana unit organized a seminar with the title “Save Secularism-Save Constitution”, at Dr. Raj Bahadur Goour Hall, Makhdoom Bhavan here. The seminar was chaired by CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy; key note speakers were professor Haragopal, a social activist and CPI General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Haragopal said Gandhiji used to sing bhajans and he carries Bhagawadgeetha, even though the communalists killed Gandhiji, since he sad that all religions are equal in his view. He also said that our constitution was framed with all the aspirations of the people include Schedule castes, Tribes, women and eradicate inequalities between all. But now unfortunately the orange gang wants to run the state with all inequalities. Now change should occur. Mass movements should build to save secularism and save the Constitution. Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy also spoke. He said the democracy was in deep danger in the country. He said we must take oath to save democracy, Secularism and Constitution.

Chada Venkat Reddy also spoke. Seminar was attended by CPI Hyderabad Secretary ET Narsimha, CPI Medchal District Secretary G Ailaiah, AITUC State General Secretary V. Ratnkar Rao, Executive Members VS Bose, BKMU Leader Venkatramulu, AIPSO General Secretary Dr. D. Sudhakar, Council members Prem Pavani,Chayadevi, AIPSO State General Secretary KVL, BC Hakkula Sadhana Samithi leader Pandu Rangachari, Tribal Union Leader Ramavath Anjaiah Naik, IPTA State Leader Palle Narsimha, AISF State General Secretary R Sivaramakrishna and others.
