Crescent not sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday in India

The Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States on June 16, Saturday, as the crescent of Shavval-ul-Mukarram was not sighted on Thursday.

This was announced by a team of noted Islamic Scholars under the aegis of the Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee – Hyderabad Deccan. The Committee which met at the Hussaini Building at Moazzam Jahi Market on Thursday evening, made the announcement after getting confirmation from all the districts and neighbouring States, that the crescent has not been sighted. Therefore, the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday and 30th Roza would be observed on Friday, which eventually will also be Jumatul Vida, the last Friday of holy Ramzan.

The meeting was attended by Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan Secretary-General and Muslim Personal Law Board member Moulana Syed Qubul Pasha Shuttari, Jamia Nizamia Vice Chancellor Moulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Darul-Ifta head Moulana Mufti Mohammed Azeemuddin, Moulana Syed Kazim Pasha Quadri, Moulana Mehmood Pasha Shattari, Mouland Auliya Hussaini Murutuza Pasha and others.
