CS for expanding forest area

Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi today directed the forest officials to coordinate with other departments and protect the forest lands and expand it with continuous efforts. Forest staff members are the protectors of the forest lands who should guard them he said.

Participating as the chief guest in a two-day workshop of Forest officials at Dulapally Forest Academy, Joshi said that agro forestry program will be taken up in coordination with farmers. A forest land protection cell will be formed in coordination with revenue, police and forest wing and take steps for agro forestry development by involving farmers and the agriculture officials and staff. Protect the existing forest are and grow green to ensure ecological balance.

He suggested to use new technologies like drones to protect forest lands and take up fifth phase of haritha haram program. Ensure all facilities in the forest offices and see that fire accidents to not take place and stop smuggling of forest wood and any irregularities. He also discussed on growing nurseries in districts and to reach targets.
