LUCKNOW: A brutal video of the Unnao rape saviour’s father being tortured in police custody has gone viral on social media platforms.
In the video, the middle-aged man is seen lying unconscious on the stretcher in very poor condition and
the four men including two cops were seen forcibly taking the thumb impression of the deceased on some papers.
Also, the wounds on the deceased’s body in the video clearly show how brutally he had been thrashed in police custody.
As the video went viral, the troubles for the accused MLA arrested on Tuesday over charges of beating the girl’s father to death in police custody don’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
The father of the 18-year-old girl was being forced to withdraw the case against the Unnao BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. Upon his refusal, he was picked up by police late on Sunday and was allegedly roughed up by Atul Singh and his aides while in custody.
He was taken to the district hospital with 18 wounds and gashes, abdominal pain and vomiting. He died soon after.
Meanwhile, according to reports published in Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, DIG law and order in the press conference on Tuesday evening tried to clear the stand of the police on the viral video by claiming that the left hand thumb impression of the victim’s father were taken to complete the official formalities.
