UP: Dalit topper of BBAU refuses to receive gold medal from President Ram Nath Kovind

Lucknow: A Dalit student of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) in Uttar Pradesh refused to accept medal from President of India.

According to the news published in DC, a Dalit student, Ramendra Naresh who topped in MCA programme of the university refused to accept a gold medal from President Ram Nath Kovind to register his protest against the atrocities meted out to Dalits in the country. He informed it to the university authorities.

It may be mentioned that the convocation of the university is scheduled to be held on 15th December.

On Wednesday, while talking to media persons, Ramendra told that he is refusing to accept the gold medal to record his protest against atrocities meted out to Dalits. He further told that he would accept the medal if both President and PM assure that Dalits will be treated equally on a par with other communities of the country.
