Dattatreya’s remarks on Masjid Ek Khana and criticism on Azharuddin condemned

Hyderabad: Mr Shaik Abdullah Sohail, President of Minorities cell of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee condemned the remarks made by Mr Bandaru Dattatreya that no mosque did exist at Amberpet.

He further told that BJP and its leaders have no right to interfere in such matters since it involves the sentiments of the Muslims. This issue is between the Muslims and the GHMC.

He also told that BJP leaders namely, Dr Lakshman, Raja Singh and Kishan Reddy are unnecessarily interfering in this matter.

Replying to Mr Dattatreya’s criticism levelled against Mr Azharuddin, Mr Sohail said that in the capacity of Working President of state Congress Committee Mr Azharuddin addressed the press conference at Gandhi Bhavan in which he did not provoke the Muslims.

He mentioned that there is a Wakf record of the masjid. He recalled that a few days back, Home Minister of TS, Mr Mohammed Mahmood Ali had given an assurance that the mosque will be reconstructed at the same place but Advocate General took a different stand in the HC which is very surprising. It speaks of the dual policy of Telangana Govt.

He reiterated that Congress party will demand the Govt. to reconstruct the masjid at the same place.
