Dawood Ibrahim funded Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation, says Iqbal Kaskar

New Delhi: Dawood Ibrahim’s brother, Iqbal Kaskar claimed that underworld don used to fund Zakir Naik’s NGO, Islamic Research Foundation (IRF). He revealed this on Tuesday during police interrogation.

It may be noted that this is not the first time when such claims are made.

Earlier, Zakir Naik’s Chief Financial Officer, Aamir Gazdar had also claimed that Dawood Ibrahim funded Zakir Naik’s IRF. He further claimed that the NGO gets funding by Dawood Ibrahim though Sultan Ahmed.

Recently, Kaskar said that Dawood Ibrahim is still in Pakistan. He also said that Dawood Ibrahim is healthy. Kaskar further told the interrogators that he has spoken with his other brother, Anees Ibrahim, who lives with Dawood, only four or five times in the recent past.

It may be mentioned that Iqbal Kaskar was arrested by former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma following charges of extortion.

Reportedly, Kaskar was nabbed against a complaint given by a builder who was facing extortion threat.

Police picked up Kaskar from his Mumbai residence.

Kaskar had been threatening builders on behalf of Dawood and was demanding huge extortion money.
