Days after BJP’s landslide victory, its leader makes controversial statement

J&K: Soon after BJP resuming power once again in the Center, its leader started making controversial statements.

Senior leader of BJP and former Dy. CM of J&K, Mr. Kavinder Gupta told that Article 370 of Constitution of India has given rise to separatism.

Mr. Gupta was talking to newsmen at his residence. He told that this article has kept J&K separate from other States of Indian Union which cannot be tolerated. Abolition of this article is among the top priorities of BJP.

Citing the founder of Jana Sangh, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Mr. Gupta said that Dr. Mukherjee had made sacrifices against Article 370. He further said that in Heera Nagar, Jodiyan and Ramban dozens of people were killed.

Referring to the role played by Dr. Karan Singh, Mr. Gupta said that Dr. Singh is supporting those who had dislodged his father, Maharaja Hari Singh from the State.

He categorically told that the agenda of this country is ‘Hindutva’. Anyone who says against it will not be tolerated.

It may be mentioned that BJP in its election manifesto for LS polls 2019 had reiterated its promise to scrap Articles 370 and 35 (A) from Constitution of India. He said that these articles are the discriminatory provisions against the women of Kashmir and the residents of other states. It is a major hurdle in the development of J&K State. He asserted that in order to make the atmosphere of the valley peaceful, all possible steps would be taken. The coming back of migrated Kashmir pundits would be ensured and financial assistance will be provided to the refugees who had come from West Pakistan, PoK and Chumb.
