Muzaffarnagar: A 27-year-old man was awarded death sentence by a fast track court for raping and murdering a minor six-year-old girl in 2012.
Judge Shakti Putra pronounced the convict Anil Kashyap’s death sentence yesterday along with slapping him a 40,000 Rs fine.
The six-year-old minor victim’s dead body was recovered from a sugarcane field on 9 December 2012. The accused Anil was arrested within three days of the crime. He was charged and held guilty under sections 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), according to government lawyer Subhash Tomar, PTI reports.
