Delhi businessman shot thrice over old enmity

Ghaziabad: A Delhi-based businessman was today shot at by two bike-borne assailants in Kotwali Loni area here, police said.

A resident of Karawal Nagar area in the national capital, Surender, a candle manufacturer, received 4 to 5 calls on his cellphone from a person who wanted to sell him large amount of wax at around 7.30 AM, SHO Avdesh Pratap said.

When Surender reached Sriram Colony near Banthala canal, the assailants, who were following him, fired three shots at the businessman leaving him critically injured, he said.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and rushed the victim to GTB hospital in New Delhi where he is undergoing treatment, Pratap said.

It appears to be a fallout of old enmity, he added.
