Delhi: Five youths arrested for Gang-rape of 20-year-old woman

New Delhi: In less than a week another gang rape incident of a 20-year-old woman is reported from Jahangirpuri where five youths have raped the woman when she accidentally bumped into them near a municipal garbage dump (dhalao) around 10pm on Wednesday night.

Earlier a teenager was raped by three youths at Shalimar Bagh in Delhi’s northwest area.

The rape victim lodged a complaint with the Jahangiripuri Police station on next day Thursday afternoon after narrating the incident to a relative.

The victim in her statement has said the five youths forcibly took her to an isolated place nearby behind the MCD apartments and raped her by turns. They even threatened to kill her if she reports the incident she said.

After narrating the incident to her relative on Thursday afternoon the Police was informed about the crime who later sent her for medical examination which confirmed the crime.

A gang rape case was registered. Her statement shall now be recorded under section 164 CrPC before the magistrate on Friday. The victim is currently undergoing counseling.

Aslam Khan DCP (northwest) said, “The suspects have been detained and we are verifying their antecedents.”

The five accused are known to the victim’s family since they reside in the same area. Police said that the accused are school dropouts and worked by time at the garbage dump. The police will produce the accused before the Magistrate.

Meanwhile, the police are probing the teenager’s gang-rape case at Shalimar Bagh. Nearly 450 people have been questioned so far. The police are now searching for the black bike the three suspects used to flee the crime scene. The police has searched nearly 50 bikes have been checked till now, reports TOI.
