Delhi: Missing siblings’ bodies recovered in drain

New Delhi: The bodies of two sisters who were missing since September 19 were found in a drain in the Alipur area of northwest Delhi’s Rohini under mysterious circumstances on Monday. The sisters identified as Rukhsana (25) and younger sister Nabila (22), residents of Seelampur, had left home saying they were going to the bus terminal but did not return. After a thorough search, the family lodged a missing complaint with the police. The girls could be identified through the tattoo on one of the girl’s hands which read Lucky, the name of Rukhsana’s ex-husband whom she had left after a failed marriage.

Girls’ mother Shabnam, informed that the girls had left home saying that someone has called them at the ISBT bus stand to offer the job. At around 5.40 pm, Nabila called her mother and told that they are riding in a car and going to the Model Town area. After that, their phones were switched off. Shabnam is suspecting Lucky Rukhsana’s ex-husband to be behind the girls’ killing. He belonged to other community and both of them got married two years ago. However, the love marriage failed as lucky started harassing her soon after and even tried to sell off his daughter he had from Rukhsana.

Shabnam also said Lucky had been threatening Rukhsana of dire consequences since he heard the news of preparation for her second marriage. She believes that Lucky might have made a fake call promising job to the girls. According to police Lucky is absconding.

However, no injury mark was found on the bodies.
