Delhi Police arrests ‘Al Qaeda’ terrorist in Haryana

New Delhi : The Delhi Police on Monday arrested an Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) terrorist in Haryana.

Abdul Sami, who hails from Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur city, was arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police.

According to the Delhi Police, Sami was allegedly in contact with Abdul Rehman- another AQIS member who was arrested in Odisha last year.

Sami travelled to Dubai from where he went to Mansehra in Pakistan to train and returned to India in 2015.

Earlier this year, a suspected member of al-Qaida was arrested by Delhi Police in Bengaluru.

The Special Cell had in December last year arrested three AQIS operatives Zafar Masood and Abdul Rehman and Mohammad Asif, who is suspected to be the training and recruitment chief of AQIS. (ANI)
