Demand for reconstruction of demolished graves in Saudi Arabia: Protest held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Shia Muslims took out a procession from Bibi-ka-Alam in Dabeerpura to Chaderghat. They demanded the reconstruction of demolished graves of Islamic personalities in Jannat-ul-Baqi in Medina. Hundreds of Shias participated in the procession which was taken out on Saturday.

According to the report published in Times of India, the protesters were carrying placards and raising slogans against the government of Saudi Arabia.

It is also reported that the protest was organised by Hussaini organization.  Agha Alamdar and Mir Firasat Ali Baqri led the protest.

The areas from where the procession passed were Alawa-e-Bibi, Shaik Faiz Kaman, Yakutpura Darwaza, Etebar Chowk, Mandi Mir Alam Road, Mirchowk, Inayath Jung Devdi, Baitul Qayam, Purani Haveli, Dar-ul-Shifa, Alawa-e-Sartauq and Aza Khana Zehra.

Mr. Syed Hamed Hussain Jaffery, President of Shia Youth Conference criticized the Saudi government.

It may be mentioned that the graves and tombs in Jannat-ul-Baqi were levelled in 1925, Times of India reported.
