Denmark’s new law: Muslim kids must know about Christmas

Copenhagen: Considering the low-income immigrant neighbourhoods in Copenhagen and other cities in Denmark as “ghettos” the Denmark government plans to force Muslim kids to take “Danish values” classes away from their parents.

According to The New York Times, the government is currently pushing to add a new series of laws labelled the “ghetto package” to be imposed on this group (mostly Muslims)– which lives in some 25 areas across the country. If the families don’t integrate voluntarily, they wouldn’t be forced under the law. Kids as small as one year are detached from their parents’ sides for 25 hours a week and are made to attend “Danish values” classes on the national language and religious holidays like Christmas and Easter.

If the parents refuse, their social welfare benefits will be cut.
