Deve Gowda, KCR talk early elections, Federal Front

Hyderabad: JD-S Chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda today called on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here on Sunday.

While IT Minister KT Rama Rao welcomed Deve Gowda, KCR offered him a shawl and citation. Deve Gowda, who arrived here on Saturday evening, attended marriage of Congress leader T Subbirami Reddy’s grandson on Sunday. Later he went to KCR’s residence at Begumpet and got a warm reception. Both the leaders discussed briefly on the proposed Federal Front (FF) against the BJP and the Congress at national level.

The meeting assumes importance as Gowda has already hinted at early elections and spoke the same with the Chief Minister. Both the former Prime Minister and Chief Minister KCR had one-to-one talk on news reports that early elections may take place and on preparedness. They are likely to sit and discuss regularly to design and frame the agenda and policy for the Federal Front. They are understood to have shared their views on the new platform to take on against the two national parties and talked on current political scenario elsewhere in the country.

The Chief Minister has seen off Deve Gowda, who took a flight from Begumpet to Bengaluru. Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MPs and MLAs were present. (NSS)
