DGP pats Mahabubabad police for good work
M Mahender Reddy on Sunday took charge as the Director-General of Police (In-charge) of Telangana State on Sunday. Reddy who took charge from Anurag Sharma, thanked the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao for giving him the responsibility as head of the State police. Efforts will continue at making Telangana a crime free State and focus will be on implementation of friendly policing, he said. There were many challenges post bifurcation and the police tackled them effectively. “Also, issues like child sexual abuse, crime against women and others were given due importance and dealt with utmost attention,” Reddy said. Mahender Reddy is the second DGP of Telangana State. A graduate in civil engineering from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, he got selected for IPS in 1986. Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy today reiterated that police personnel would be people friendly and would earn their goodwill.
Speaking after visiting Mahabubabad and Warangal Urban districts on Thursday, the DGP praised the Mahabubabad police for their good work culture. He said the number of crimes was also decreased in the State with effective work of the Police department in the State. He said his department made tight security arrangements to protect law and order. He showered praises on Mahabubabad SP Koti Reddy for his good work.
The DGP visited Hanamkonda Model Police Station, Police Command Control Centre building construction at Police Head Quarters in Warangal Urban district. He also participated in review meeting with higher officials held at NEET.
