Dharna & Protests Prohibited on Tank Bund

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today clarified that the government has prohibited dharnas and protests on the Tank Bund in the city. Bus Yatras of the Congress completely failed with no public response, he ridiculed. The Government will act tough and take stern action against such protesters who take the law into their hands, he maintained.

During his reply in the State Assembly to a debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his Address, he reiterated that protests against the norms will not be allowed. “We did not bring the orders of prohibition, it was launched by the Chandrababu Government”, he said. The government shown another place at Saroornagar for protests and the political parties and people organisations can take up protests there, he said. They can stage protests at any given place and not essentially at other places violating norms, he said. Though court denied, the government permission for the protests which should be in a peaceful manner, KCR said. If the protests go awry and out of control, the government will suppress it, he clarified. He flayed the congress for denial of permission to protests in undemocratic attitude.

Kalyana, Shadi Amount to be Increased

The Chief Minister also announced that the amount of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak will be increased soon. A decision will be taken in this regard, he said. Thus it is likely that the amount is to put at Rs 1 lakh from Rs 75,116 per head. KCR also said that Telangana Liberation Day will be celebrated on June 2, as the statehood was achieved on the day. He flayed the BJP leader G Kishan Reddy for charges against the government in this regard.(NSS)
