Dhruv Rathee in this video drew parallels between 1984 general elections and 1984 elections. It was the time when the country was going through emergency like situation. Elections were held after the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Then the Atal Bihari Vajpayee had issued message to voters which was aired by Door Darshan. Dhruv Rathee explains how the message is relevant to today’s world.
Vajpayee had said that polarisation and communalism was a threat.
Dhruv Rathee says if a leader rakes up nationalism issue leaving the major issues and in reality he works to divide people, then he has failed to solve the real issues. Claiming that media biased, he says all the media channels are propagating the government.
Dhruv Rathee pointed out that various instruments of media are being used to do propaganda of government. He said first time in the history, a Bollywood movie, a web series, a television channel have been launched in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
