Aga Khan Education Service, India (AKES, I), which is a nonprofit organization manages 8 schools, 33 Pre-Primary Schools, 15 Rural Primary Education Centers in the states of Telangana, Maharashtra and Gujarat along with a hostel in Hyderabad and conducts various advanced educational programs that provide quality pre-school, primary, secondary and higher secondary education services to thousands of students across India.

Diamond Jubilee High School, is a school situated in the heart of Abids, Hyderabad with a successful journey for more than 5 decades. Diamond Jubilee High School, Abids, Hyderabad was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 18th December 2018 as it celebrated its Annual Sports Day, at Red hills GHMC Play Ground Red hills, Hyderabad. Almost 675 students from the school participated in the Sports day events. The program began with a melodious welcome song. The Chief Guest, Mr.Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor, The Siaasat Daily, Hyderabad, guest of honour Mr NooruddinDhamani, Director AKESI and Convener of the school along with other guests graced the occasion. The Chief Guest in his key note address emphasized that Annual sports day was a memorable day in each child life and how important sports was in a child’s life. In his address, he mentioned that sports training which appears to be meant for making children physically strong. But when one looks deeper, it is beyond physical strength and body flexibility. True sportsmanship refers to virtues such as fairness, self-control, courage, and persistence, and has been associated with interpersonal concepts of treating others and being treated fairly, maintaining self-control if dealing with others, and respect for both authority and opponents. Sportsmanship is also looked at as being the way one reacts to a sport/game/player. He also applauded the school principal Dr Sujatha Gade and her team for their outstanding achievements in the shaping up the school with their rich experience in the field of education. The celebrations began with a lightening of the sports torch, flag hoisting, march past by all the four houses and the Oath taking ceremony. The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The winners in various games and sports were felicitated. The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. The Chinese fan drill, butterfly drill, smiley face drill, mass drill,Yoga, dance by the students, and the other cultural items remained as the main attraction of the mega event. The principal Dr Sujatha Gade appreciated all the participants and thanked everyone who contributed their services either directly or indirectly for the grand success of the mega event. Sports day ended with National Anthem.
