Digvijay Singh unveils Islamophobia, says no difference between Madrasa and schools run by RSS, both spread hatred

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh who was wearing the mask of secularism and is famous for his frequent anti BJP and Sangh Parivar remarks to appease Muslims, unveiled Islamophobia and spit venom against Madrasas by comparing them to Saraswati Shishu Mandir schools run by RSS.

Digvijay Singh has stirred a controversy by his comment on social media. The senior leader equated madrasas to schools run by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and claimed both spread `hatred’. He tweeted “Is there a difference between Madrasas and Saraswati Shishu Mandir Schools run by RSS? I don’t think so. Both spread Hatred.”

Congress general secretary, Muslim groups and political parties have slammed Singh for his remarks on Twitter.

Strong reactions poured in from various Muslim organisations; including Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind. Senior Congress leader and State Minorities chairman Abid Rasool Khan too expressed his displeasure on the remark.

In a terse reaction, Hafiz Peer Shabbir, Jamiat-e-Ulama Hind, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chief, said he unequivocally condemns Singh’s statement. “I want him (Digvijay Singh) to show me if any madrassa has weapons stashed in it? This is a part of a larger conspiracy which seeks to have no imams, muftis and aalims,” he said.
