Digvijaya Singh questions family values of Kailash Vijayvargiya

Indore: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Monday questioned the family values of BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, after his son Akash stirred a controversy by terming Congress President Rahul Gandhi “gadhon ka sartaj (king of donkeys)”.

On March 7, Akash, a BJP MLA from Indore-3 constituency, also accused the Congress President of acting like “anti-national” of late.

“Earlier, he was called ‘Pappu’, that was a harmless and an affectionate name. But of late, he has been acting like an anti-national. So we now changed his name from ‘Pappu’ to ‘Gadhon ka Sartaj’,” he had told reporters in Bhopal.

Responding to questions on the remark, Singh said, “Ask Kailash ji, what family values he has taught to his son?”
Asked whether the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ (grand alliance) had accepted Rahul as the Prime Minister, Singh said, “There are two gathbandhans. Doesn’t the NDA have a mahagathbandhan? Why only we are referred to as mahagathbandhan.

It is there on both sides (NDA as well as UPA). Ours is ‘maha maha gathbandhan’. And our Congress leader is Rahul Gandhi.”

The Mahagathbandhan is a proposed alliance of Opposition parties that would take on the ruling BJP government in the coming Lok Sabha elections, slated to take place in seven phases across the country from April 11 to May 19.

Counting will be declared on May 23.
