DMC member Zafarul Islam khan’s notice:

Zafarul Islam khan received complaints from the students for not being taught urdu and Punjabi as a third language and to which he sent notice to the directorate of education complaining the same.

“There are no teachers to teach the subjects and when there are available teachers all the possible arrangements would be made in the schools” replied Sanjay Goel (DoE Director)

According to another report made by the Delhi Minority Commission 883 posts for urdu language are vacant out of 1028 sactioned posts for Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) and 780 out of 1023 for Punjabi language.

State languages must be taught in every school as it keeps the children connected to their culture.
