DMK wants action against TN CM for misuse of Secretariat

Chennai: The DMK on Saturday urged Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit to take legal action against Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and others for using the State Secretariat for political purposes.

DMK’s Organising Secretary R.S. Bharathi issued a statement here saying that the party objected to the use of the Secretariat to re-admit former Member of Parliament K.C. Palanisamy into the AIADMK on Friday and demanded action against Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, and Chief Secretary Girija Vaidyanathan.

The State Secretariat should be used only for official purposes, Bharathi said.

Contrary to the rules and the oath taken by the Chief Minister, who is also the Joint Coordinator of the AIADMK along with Panneerselvam, they had misused the secretariat for their party activity, Bharathi charged.

Bharathi said Purohit should seek an explanation from the three and take necessary action.
