Guntur: In a shocking incident which took place in Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH), doctors performed surgery under cell phone flashlight.
According to the report published in New Indian Express, when doctors were performing surgery on a patient, P. Venkamma, lights went off. Due to this, doctors decided to continue surgery under cell phone flashlight. Venkamma had met with an accident on 7th February.
It may be mentioned that doctors faced a similar problem when they were performing surgery on Wednesday. During the surgery, lights went off and orthopedic surgical drill machine stopped. However, they completed the procedure by shifting the patient to the Orthopaedic operation theatre.
Talking about the incident, GGH Superintendent, Mr. DS Raju Naidu said that lights in the operation theatre went off due to power tripping. He further said that duration of such situations is only a few minutes.
