Don’t believe the rumour mill, Irrfan Khan is NOT admitted in Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital

MUMBAI: Irrfan Khan’s statement about his health has left all of us crestfallen. While he his yet to reveal more details about his ‘rare disease’, his message hinted at the fact that it’s severe. Just one day after Irrfan’s statement on social media platforms, several reports started floating.

There were reports that claimed that Irrfan Khan has been admitted to a Mumbai Hospital. However, rubbishing all such reports, a PTI report has confirmed that Irrfan Khan has not been admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

The denial came after rumors started circulating that the 51-year-old actor has brain cancer and has been admitted to the hospital.

“It is not true. He is not here at the hospital for treatment,” an official at the Kokilaben hospital told PTI. The actor’s team also quashed rumors of him being admitted to the private hospital. Asked if he has cancer, they declined to comment.

“We will comment as soon as possible. No comments at the moment,” a spokesperson for the actor told PTI. In a Twitter post, Irrfan, one of India’s most versatile actors, had said he and his family were jolted by the knowledge of his illness and requested his fans and followers not to “speculate” about his health.

On February 21, the actor’s spokesperson released a statement, saying he has been diagnosed with a “severe case of jaundice”. Irrfan, as an actor, in his almost three-decade career has claimed his position as one of the most dependable performers in the Indian film industry as well as in Hollywood.

His last release was Tanuja Chandra’s Qarib Qarib Singlle and films that are ready for release include Blackmail and Karwaan.
