Don’t feed husbands if they don’t vote for NDA: Nitish Kumar to women

Patna: Striking a controversy on Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar urged women not to feed their husband if they don’t vote for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from Jhanjharpur. He was addressing a gathering in Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha constituency. Times of India quoted Kumar as saying, “Ask your spouse to exercise his franchise. If he votes for the NDA candidate, feed him well. If he doesn’t, keep him hungry for the day.”

Targeting the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan, the Bihar CM alleged that the sole aim of RJD leaders is to loot people of Bihar. He alleged that Mahagathbandhan is attempting to come to power by dividing society on the basis of caste and community.

Jhanjharpur will go to poll on April 23 in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections 2019. The seat is located in northern Bihar, close to the Nepal borders on the north, adjacent to Madhubani on the west and Supaul to the east, will witness a triangular contest among Janata Dal-United (JDU) candidate Ram Preet Mandal, Gulab Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Union Minister Devendra Prasad Singh who is contesting as an independent, In 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Succeeding the then incumbent MP, Mangani Lal Mandal, of the RJD, Birendra Kumar Choudhary of the BJP had won the Jhanjharpur seat in 2014 general elections.
