Dr.Christine Blasey Ford’s on Time’s latest cover

Washington: Time magazine has put a photograph of Dr.Christine Blassey Ford, who accused United States Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, on the cover of its October edition.

Made by San Francisco-based artist John Mavroudis, the picture is an illustration of the words and phrases from Ford’s testimony arranged into an image of her taking an oath.

Ford, a professor based out of California, testified that Kavanaugh had assaulted her during a party in the 1980s when they were both in high school in a powerful speech before the US Senate in September this year. She has accused Kavanaugh of groping her and attempting to remove her clothes.

Kavanaugh, however, blatantly denied the charges in his testimony, while labelling the allegations levied against him as a “smear campaign”. He is currently facing multiple sexual allegations, as two other survivors came forward with their ordeals following Ford’s allegations.

While United States President Donald Trump has staunchly supported his nominee, women’s rights groups have been continuously protesting against Kavanaugh.

On September 28, Trump ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to conduct a supplemental investigation into Kavanaugh over Ford’s sexual assault allegation.

The US Senate is set to vote today, after the Senate Judiciary Committee received the FBI investigation file on Thursday. The confirmation vote in the case is expected to take place on Saturday, according to Al Jazeera.
