Lucknow: Few civil defense officers caught dancing in an inebriated state in UP’s Prayagraj city irked high officials who later took cognizance of the act after the video went viral.
The IG Civil Defence has also ordered a probe into the shameful incident concerning the defense officials.
According to sources, the civil defence officers were in the city to take part in the 2019 Kumbh Mela, Oneindia news reported.
JL Tripathi DG Civil Defense took cognizance of the incident and directed the IG Civil Defense Amitabh Thakur to investigate the matter.
Responding to the queries, IG Amitabh Thakur said the investigation in the case is underway and that officers found guilty will be punished he added.
The 2019 Ardh Kumbh Mela in the city will soon witness a large number of Hindu devotees and sages.
