Ed Sheeran awarded MBE by Prince Charles

London: It’s definitely a good year for Ed Sheeran as the two-time Grammy winner has recently been honoured with the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for a glittering musical career and charity work by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.

The British singer, whose latest album Divide spent more than 15 weeks at the top of the charts, was the most-streamed artist of 2017 and supported various good causes.

The 26-year-old has notched up three chart topping singles, won a Grammy Award last year and recently released his duet with Beyonce ‘Perfect’.

The ‘Shape of your’ hit-maker has worked with a range of charities like an organization East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, which he supports as an ambassador and has the Duchess of Cambridge as its royal patron.

He has also been named as the biggest star on YouTube in the UK in 2017, topping the site’s most popular video lists for the year.

British comedian and author Tony Hawks was also recognised during the investiture ceremony and was awarded an MBE for his charity work in Moldova. (ANI)
