New Delhi: One again efforts are on to occupy graveyard at Mehrauli. Builder mafia forcibly entered into the graveyard and razed the old graves while starting fencing around the land. Occupation of Waqf property is nothing new for Mehrauli. Many properties have been illegally occupied so far but efforts to vacate the land have not been succeeded.
If the matter is not taken seriously some people are making efforts to occupy graveyard near Pankhay wali masjid. The builders demolished the shrines and are ready to occupy the graveyard. Bilal Ahmed Changezi and Syed Shahabuddin said that some people forcibly entered into the graveyard and started demolishing the shrines. A complaint has been lodged with the police but no action has been taken. The grabbers want to build a park or parking area on the land.
