New Delhi: To provide education to tribals in their local environment by 2022, every block comprising more than 50 per cent of tribal population and at least 20,000 tribal people will have an ‘Eklayva Model Residential School’, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced in his Budget on Thursday.
The schools will be part of the Navodaya Vidyalayas and provide for “special facilities for preserving local arts and culture besides providing training in sports and skill development”, he said.
