Work in Minority Welfare offices was paralysed on Saturday as electricity was restored after 24 hours at Hajj House. It must be noted that the electricity department officials on non-payment of bill to the tune of 6.5 lakh disconnected the power supply to Hajj House following which several offices of Minority Welfare plunged into darkness and work was paralysed. Had they wished officials of minority department could have talked to high officials of electricity department and restored the power but they don’t have interest in solving public problems.
The officials woke up from deep slumber following power disruption and they prepared a demand draft of 4.5 lakhs. After taking the approval of Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel, the draft was deposited in the electricity department. Thus the electricity was resorted in the building after 24 hours.
It must be noted that work came to standstill for the whole day and hundreds of people had to return disappointed without finishing their work.
