Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Jerusalem is the heart of entire Muslim world. Hence its defence and freedom is not the responsibility of Palestinians alone but all Muslims on earth. These views were said to have expressed by the Turkish president in Ankara during a meeting with Palestinian parliamentary delegation visiting the country at the invitation of the Turkish Palestinian Friendship Association.
Addressing on the occasion the Turkish President said Turkey is the second country of Palestinians and I welcome Palestinian political leadership in their second country. He claimed that Turkey has always helped Palestinians. It has launched development projects worth 146 million dollars in the West Bank and Gaza.
Erdogan also claimed that Muslims and Christians are united against US president Trump’s Declaration regarding Jerusalem. Pope Francis’s stand is also clear who is in favour of Palestinian on Jerusalem issue.
On the occasion, head of the Palestinian delegation MP Mohamed al-Lahham briefed the president on the considerable suffering which the Palestinian people at home are exposed to by the Israeli occupation. He expressed his thanks to the Turkish president for his strong support for the Palestinian people and their national cause.
