“ESTABLISH THE RELIGION AND NOT BE DEVIDED THEREIN”

QUR’AN: 42 SURAH SHURAA – AYAT 13-14:

“He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus – to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].”

“And they did not become divided until after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord [postponing the penalty] until a specified time, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, those who were granted inheritance of the Scripture after them are, concerning it, in disquieting doubt.”

“… Establish the religion and not be devided therein …”

Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, says that this is the message that had been sent to Nuh, Ibraheem, Musa and Isa, Alaihum Assalaam, and the same has been sent to Prophet Mohammed, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam. And take a look at those who became devided amongst them (jews and Christians).

Further Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, reveals that they became devided after clear revelations and knowledge had come to them. Reason being “JEALOUSY” Jealous animosity between themselves. And Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala’s, displeasure and anger over this is also clearly revealed in these ayat.

This Ummah seriously needs to ponder over this and make sincere efforts to remain united as one ummah. And love one another for the sole reason of being followers of the Deen of Islam and being the Ummah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad, SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam.

May Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, instill the love for all muslims in our hearts and keep us united and strong always.
