Exhibition: Case reaches High Court of Telangana, hearing today

Hyderabad: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition was filed in Telangana High Court requesting for issuing orders for the immediate closure of exhibition. It is likely that this petition will be heard on the afternoon of Friday, 8th February.

It may be recalled that on 30th January, a fire accident took place in which more than 300 stalls caught fire and exhibition closed down for two days.

The petitioner, Mr. Khaja Aijazuddin, Advocate in his PIL submitted that the exhibition society started the exhibition again without getting NOC from fire service.

He alleged that the chairman of exhibition society is the former Finance Minister and hence investigations are not being done properly.

The petitioner contended that there is a threat to life of the people if exhibition continues. He pleaded the court to issue orders for probing the case though SIT or CBCID.

The petition will be heard at the court of Chief Justice, Telangana High Court today.
