Existing Chandrayangutta flyover to be extended by 500 mts

In a proposal recently approved by the GHMC standing committee, the existing Chandrayangutta flyover will be extended by 500 metres. This will be done either by dismantling the existing 140-150 metre solid ramp or getting it buried during the raising of the existing approach road.

For the first time, an existing flyover in the city will be extended. There are 25 to 30 flyovers under GHMC limits constructed by GHMC and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority.

The extension aims at relieving the traffic congestion at the junction. Junction of Barkas Road to Kandikal Gate and the Inner Ring Road at the end of the flyover will also be developed under the project.

The project needs the approval of the general body in a meeting expected to be held shortly. Expected cost of the project would be around Rs 37 crore.
