Facilities for farmers losing land: harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said adequate compensation will be provided to those farmers who lost their lands for the Mallanna Sagar project.

The minister distributed cheques to the farmers, who lost their lands for the project. He called upon the farming community and people not to fall a prey to the false comments of the Opposition parties. The State government will provide all help and succor to the land losers for the projects as per RR scheme, he said.

Speaking at a program at Siddipet along with MLC Ramalinga Reddy, Harish Rao said the farmers losing lands will be compensated. Stating that Mallanna Sagar is like heart for the prestigious Kaleshwaram project, Harish Rao said they acquired lands in seven out of eight villages for the purpose. The minister also said 80 per cent of land was acquired for the project at Vemulaghat and Rs 7.10 crore paid towards 250 acres acquired. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was offering better package of houses to such farmers under RR package. The projects are lifeline for the people and the State, he added. The government will complete the works of the projects in spite of hurdles being created by the Opposition parties. (NSS)
