Fashion designer Sunita Singh’s son Lakshya was recently arrested in connection to her death, reports state.

Sunita aged around 45 was found dead inside her bathroom with multiple injuries on her head, face, and back in Mumbai on Thursday, IBT times reports.

Lakshya was arrested and charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder after the Police found he was behind his mother’s death.

The probe into her death revealed that Lakshya Singh (23) has pushed her during a heated argument between the two, causing Sunita’s head hit the wash bin and then the eventual death.

The Police also said that Lakshya initially told that his mother has locked herself inside the bathroom and did not respond to him.

It was when the police questioned the neighbors and the jewelers they learned that Lakshya lied to them and also confessed about the incident to his the jeweler.

The police has arrested Lakshya based on jeweller’s statement and arrested him under section 304 (2) of the IPC.

“The exact reason behind Sunita’s death is yet to be ascertained, but prima facie it appears the mother and son had an argument on Wednesday night. Both of them used to consume narcotics substances,” the publication quoted a police officer as saying.
