Father of BJP’s member beheaded for naming a junction ‘Narendra Modi Chowk’ in Bihar

Darbhanga: In a shocking incident on Thursday, a 70-year-old man in Bihar’s Darbhanga was allegedly attacked and beheaded by a group of 40-50 men for naming a ‘chowk’ on prime minister Narendra Modi’s name. The victim, identified as Ramchandra Yadav, is the father of Tej Narayan Yadav who is the BJP chief of Behala Panchayat. During the incident; Kamal Yadav, brother of Tej Narayan had also got injured.

“Around 40-50 men came on 25-30 bikes with hockey sticks and swords. My father went to them to explain the situation but was beheaded, they also tried to kill my brother,” the victim’s son said. Ramchandra was first attacked on head and hand, then was finally beheaded by a sword.

As per a report by India.com, the BJP workers protested in Darbhanga on Friday and demanded the arrest of culprits. Tej Narayan had in December 2016 named a ‘junction’ as ‘Narendra Modi Chowk’, while another group wanted it to be named after RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.

The police have arrested four people while further investigation is on. Meanwhile, the DSP Darbhanga Dilnvaj Ahamad stated “We reached the spot of the incident immediately & had arrested the culprits by night. We have recorded the statements of all the witnesses. In the brother’s case we have recorded his statement and our investigating the matter.”
