This fitness centre in Dimapur focuses on healthy living

Dimapur (Nagaland): Taking the fitness and healthy living regime to new heights, numerous fitness centres have popped-up in the markets of Dimapur city to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Keeping in minds the importance of being healthy and staying fit which is difficult for most in today’s context, many citizens including youngsters are medically unfit for various reasons.

To tackle this, Maolung Yaden came up with an idea to promote the importance of health through his fitness centre called ‘Bodycraft Gym’ in Church Colony, Notun Bosti in Nagaland’s commercial hub city.

“I opened this gym not to make business but to promote fitness as a lifestyle. Our eating habits are not that healthy, the foods that we have, the meat and the lifestyles we eat are quite unhealthy. Our main focus is to promote fitness as well to help matured or elderly citizens,” said Yaden.

Now a fitness promoter, Yaden recounted that he was once a medically unfit and it was the fitness regime which helped him to regain the strength and gave him the present shape and its fitness.

Taking into account his life experiences, he wished to inspire more people to join the fitness initiative and lead a healthier life.

Yaden trains not only the young fitness freaks of the region but also medically unfit trainees such as people having cholesterol problem, blood pressure problem and obese clients apart from matured people.
A trainee, Roselin said, “Post-pregnancy, I had gained a lot of weight, so to lose weight I joined this fitness gym. It’s just been two weeks and I can see so many changes in myself with the help of the trainers. They encourage us in so many ways to stay fit. Since I take care of kids and home, it is very difficult to take out time but since health is very much important, I tried to take out two hours in a day for a fitness regime.”

Moreover, the centre provides services like diet chart by tracking the diet routine of the trainees on weekly basis; monitor the weight loss and even keep a tap on-check the amount of energy burnt during the workout session.

“I love the muscle tone type of body, so I have been coming here for muscle and for my leg and so far, it has been improving a lot. Now I am working on for my arms and let see how much it can be improved,” said another trainee Kim.

With the number of growing demands from modern health-conscious people, the centre is now eyeing to set up its branches in Kohima and Makokchung soon.
