Hyderabad: Five persons were killed on the spot and four others grievously injured when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry near Khammam crossroads at Kodad in Suryapet district on Sunday afternoon.
According to the information, some 10 persons were returning from Sri Rama temple after Sita-Rama kalyanam in the ill-fated autorickshaw when the accident occured. While five died on the spot, four others were injured. The group was returning to their village after witnessing the celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama-Sita at a temple in Thummara village. The injured were shifted to a hospital in Kodad for treatment.
