Five men arrested for allegedly attacking journalist on train

Mumbai: The Railway police today arrested five persons for allegedly assaulting a TV journalist on a local train on the Western suburban line on February 21. Vishal Dongre (28), Vivek Dhumal (32), Ravindra Dhanavade (28), Sanjay Ambawale (32) and Rajesh Gothal (28) were arrested from Nallasopara on the outskirts of Mumbai by a team of Government Railway Police, said an official.

The accused had allegedly thrashed up Sudhir Shukla, a TV journalist, and tried to throw him out of the running train, he said.
The incident had taken place between the suburban Mira Road and Andheri railway stations.

A group of passengers standing on the foot-board allegedly tried to stop Shukla from boarding the Andheri-bound train at Mira Road, saying there was no space inside. When Shukla managed to get inside, there was a heated argument and he was allegedly beaten up by the accused.
