Former Cricketer Azharuddin speaks about 12% reservation

Hyderabad: Former Captain of Indian Cricket Team, Mr. Mohammed Azharuddin slammed TRS Govt. for not fulfilling its election promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslims. He further told that this government is cheating the Muslims in the name of reservations. He mentioned that the campaign started by Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily has turned into a revolution.

He was addressing a gathering organized in connection with Telangana Praja Chaitanya Yatra held at Zaheerabad. Mr. Azharuddin gave a special interview to the correspondent of Siasat Urdu Daily and said that Congress had fulfilled its promise in 2004 by giving 4% reservation to Muslims. Lakhs of Muslim students are being benefited under this provision.

Mr. KCR had announced in his election meeting held at Shaadnagar that he would provide 12% reservation to Muslims within 4 months of TRS assuming power in Telangana on a par with Tamil Nadu State. Even after the lapse of 4 years, he did not fulfill his promise. The Muslims are perturbed.

Sensing the feelings of the Muslims, Mr. Amer Ali Khan started a campaign two years back in order to exert pressure on TRS Govt. to fulfill its promise.

Mr. Azharuddin also mentioned that this campaign is very peaceful whereas Patel Movement of Gujarat, Jaat Protest of Haryanas and Gujjar Campaign of Rajasthan have been violent. He applauded the services rendered by Siasat Urdu Daily.

Mr. Azaharuddin slammed KCR that he is misleading the Muslims. He has to face the consequences in the General Elections of 2019. He hoped that Congress will come back to power in the State with thumping majority. He advised the youths to support Congress.
