Agra: Denial led a 24-year-old youth to murder his girlfriend’s father after he refused to the couple’s marriage proposal.
The incident is reported from Kasganj District near Hazara Canal occurred on Friday where the 24-year-old youth allegedly murdered his girlfriend’s father.
The victim identified as Mahendra Singh (50) was a resident of Dhaniyaganj village.
The victim was found dead in a pool of blood with his throat slit on Saturday morning, TOI reports.
According to police sources, the couple was in a relationship for the past three years.
SHO Ravinder Bahadur Singh, Dholna police station said, “the couple wanted to marry, but Mahendra Singh fixed his daughter’s marriage to someone else to ensure a better future for her as the accused, Vivek was unemployed and had no means to earn”.
Enraged over Singh’s decision, the accused took him near a canal on the pretext of having a conversation and served him liquor that knocked him unconscious. He then slit his throat, the officer added.
