Gautam Gambhir corners AAP govt. over rising pollution in Delhi

New Delhi: Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Wednesday attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government over the rising pollution level in the national capital.

The 37-year-old accused the government of making “false promises” to people and failing to curb pollution and dengue menace.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, he wrote, “”Dard e dil, dard e jigar, Delhi mein jagaya AAP ne, pehle toh yahan Oxygen tha, Oxygen bhagaya AAP ne @ArvindKejriwal @AamAadmiParty our generations are going up in smoke like your false promises. U had 1 full year to tame dengue and pollution, sadly you couldn’t control either. Wake up!!!”

Smog and dust continued to blanket the national capital as air quality in a number of areas has fell to ‘severe’ category.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 3three million deaths a year are linked to outdoor air pollution.
