Georgia police officer shot in line of duty, dies

Washington: A police officer of Gwinnett County, Georgia, succumbed to injuries after being shot in the line of duty on Saturday.

The Gwinnett County Police Department tweeted, “The GCPD officer shot in the line of duty has died as a result of his injuries. Efforts are ongoing to locate the suspect responsible.”

According to a press release from the police department, Officer Antwan Toney was shot when he was investigating a suspicious vehicle.

The vehicle fled the scene but crashed after a short distance. As per the release, as many as four suspects fled the crash site.
