Mumbai: The unique 12-digit Aadhaar card can be availed by not only residents of India but non-residents of India can also apply for it. As Aadhaar card is important to produce for opening an account. The services like Mobile SIM card, Insurance Policies and other government official works will be mandate to link with Aadhaar.
As per the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016, only a resident who has resided in India for a period or periods amounting in all to 182 or more in the 12 months immediately preceding the date of application for enrolment.
However, as per the Aadhaar act, NRIs are fully exempted to produce Aadhaar for any verification.

Step 1: Visit the official website of UIDAI – https://uidai.gov.in and find an enrolment centre near you.
Step 2: Either fix an appointment online or visit the nearest enrolment centre directly
Step 3: Important documents that need to be submitted includes resident proof, birth certificate, PAN card, etc. and Aadhaar card application form.
Step 4: The official will take your biometric details.
Step 5: After the biometric process, the official at the centre will give you an acknowledgment slip. You are advised to keep it safe as you can use it to track your Aadhaar status.
