For getting rights, politicians should be questioned: Zaheeruddin Ali Khan

Nizamabad: Even after the formation of separate Telangana State, injustices are being done since there is no development in the State.

Nizamabad Development Society was formed at a meeting held at New Ambedkar Bhavan in Nizamabad.

Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, former Minister, Mr. Santosh Reddy, Dr. B. Vinay Kumar, Dr. Mahesh, Mr. Santosh Reddy and Mr. V.H. Madhu addressed the gathering.

Continuing his speech, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told that vote has its value but it is being sold for a few rupees which is causing damage to society. Rulers formulate some policies to appease the people but it is causing damage if these policies are not translated into action.

He further told that during the past 70 years, there was no development in Nizamabad but politicians certainly progressed. It is tragic that so long as politicians continue to sell the votes of society, people would continue to get poorer.

Making a reference to the developments in the field of education initiated by the CM of Delhi, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told that he is doing a wonderful job. The people of Delhi elected Mr. Kejriwal to initiate change in society. Mr. Kejriwal is promoting education and health sectors instead of announcing popular policies. The electricity tariff has been reduced in Delhi but an attempt is being made in TS to raise it.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told that in order to associate youths with employment, establishment of industries is essential. The youths should also get expertise in cellphone, LED and other areas.

He further pointed out that after the marriage most of the families get into financial difficulties. He advised people to question political leaders so that they could concentrate on the development. Telangana movement gathered momentum only when the campaign spread at village levels. It is therefore essential to develop rural areas instead of concentrating on Hyderabad City. He also said that in addition to Congress, other political parties are also doing vote bank politics which is affecting development.

Former Minister, Mr. Santosh Reddy told that it is laudable that District Committees have been formed. There is a need to go forward unitedly.

Dr. M. Sridhar Reddy who actively participated in 1969 in Telangana Movement told that games and sport should also be promoted.

JAC Chairman, Mr. Bhaskar told that rights will be obtained only when people question the government.

The function was presided over by Ch. Madhu. Organizer of the function, Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy also addressed the gathering. Audience assembled from Bodhan, Armour, Banswada, Kamareddy and other areas of Nizamabad.
