GHMC in Coordination with all Govt Departments making arrangements for Ganesh festival

Hyderabad: M. Dana Kishore, Commissioner GHMC, said that all elaborate arrangements are being made for the ensuing Ganesh Immersion procession en route from old city to Tank Bund Areas.

The commissioner appealed the representatives of the Ganesh Utsav Committee to Co operate with the GHMC and all other Government Departments should have coordination for smooth conduct of the Ganesh Chavathi Celebrations and also Ganesh Immersion which is scheduled to held from Sept 13 to 23.

Besides Dana Kishore Commissioner GHMC, Anjini Kumar, Commissioner of Police Hyderabad, Anil Kumar Addl. Commissioner of Police Hyd, Traffic, Chouhan, Addl.Commissioner of Police, Law & Order, . Babu Rao, Addl. Commissioner of Police. Along with senior officials of Line Departments, representatives from Ganesh Utsav Committee headed by Bhawanth Rao, held a review meeting with regard to Ganesh Immersion Procession here today.

The Commissioner, GHMC, has explained the role of GHMC for taking up various works with regard to immersion to the Ganesh utsav Committee representatives and requested them to give their suggestions for the smooth conduct of immersion procession. Responding to the request of the Commissioner representatives said that the following arrangements be made as was done last year and to rectify the lapses made last year for the convenience of the citizens during procession. The suggestion given by representatives include Providing of drinking water arrangements. Arrangements of mobile toilets, Proper illumination on the entire en route ,Providing of sufficient cranes at all the locations, Providing of Generators ,Sanitation arrangements, Providing barricading, Arrangements for entry and exist points separately at Doolpet and cranes for lifting of Ganesh idols loading in the trucks, Road repairing works at the enroute and also filling of pot holes.

Responding to the request of the representatives the Commissioner said that all the points will be taken care and ensure that all necessary arrangements will be made well in advance and directed the Zonal Commissioners to conduct a separate meeting with all the HoD of line departments and representatives of the Committee to have proper coordination for taking up the works in a more appropriate manner.

Anjini Kumar, Commissioner of Police, and other senior officials of Police Department have explained the arrangements which are being taken up with regard to Law & Order, traffic and other bandobust arrangements at all the Pandals and requested the representatives to cooperate with the police department for smooth conduct of procession as was done last year.

The Commissioner, GHMC said that 10.52 crores have been sanctioned for various road repair works and other civic related issues and directed the Chief Engineers, ZCs, and other HODs of line departments to take up the works on war footing basis to be completed within the stipulated time assigned to them and thanked all the representatives of the Committee and officials for attending the meeting.
